The Playful Bengal Fox

The Bengal fox, with its fluffy tail and intelligent eyes, has always been a creature of fascination for zoo visitors. In its natural habitat, it thrives in grasslands and deserts, using its sharp senses to locate food and avoid predators. At the zoo, recreating this complex environment is a top priority.

One particular fox, named Zina, has become a star among zookeepers and visitors alike. Zina is exceptionally curious and loves to explore. To ensure she stays active and stimulated, zookeepers created a habitat filled with tunnels, mounds, and hidden compartments to mimic the fox’s natural environment. They even placed hidden snacks like fruits and insects for her to “hunt.”

Zina’s favorite activity, however, is digging. Once, she managed to dig an impressively deep hole, causing a bit of a panic among the staff. To channel this energy constructively, zookeepers introduced sandbox enrichment, allowing her to dig as much as she pleased. Now, visitors watch in delight as Zina digs with enthusiasm, embodying the spirit of a true Bengal fox.
