The Stealthy Jaguar

Jaguars are known for their mysterious aura and unmatched strength, and the zoo’s resident jaguar, Diego, is no exception. Native to the rainforests of South America, Diego was brought to the zoo after being injured by illegal hunters.

Diego’s care required a specialized team to help him recover from his injuries. They built a custom habitat with dense foliage, water features, and elevated platforms, allowing him to exercise his natural climbing and swimming skills. Diego’s favorite pastime is swimming, often diving to retrieve toys from the bottom of his pool.

One day, zookeepers noticed Diego carefully observing a tree branch in his enclosure. To encourage this behavior, they began hiding food in elevated spots, challenging him to climb and explore. Diego’s recovery has been a testament to the power of rehabilitation, and his calm yet powerful demeanor fascinates everyone who visits.
